Bu çalışmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik olarak, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (ÖMYTÖ)’nin geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Bu çalışma, nicel araştırma yöntem ve teknikleriyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ölçeğin uygulama süreci, Türkiye’nin Güneydoğu Bölgesi’nde bulunan bir ildeki üniversitenin eğitim fakültesi öğrencileriyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde yüz yüze ölçek uygulamasının yapıldığı iki farklı çalışma grubuyla çalışılmıştır. Toplamda 615 katılımcıdan oluşan çalışma grubu ikiye bölünerek 275 katılımcı ile AFA, 340 katılımcıyla da DFA süreci işletilmiştir. Ölçek uygulaması sonrasında başlatılan analiz sürecinde ölçeğin geçerliği; yapı, görünüş, kapsam ve uyum geçerliği bağlamında incelenmiştir. AFA ile hazırlanan taslak formun yapısal özellikleri incelenmiş ve alt boyutlar belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Sonra yapılan DFA ile bu yapının doğruluğu sınanmıştır. Görünüş ve kapsam geçerliği için uzman görüşüne başvurulmuş, uyum geçerliği kapsamında ise alanyazındaki benzer bir ölçekle arasındaki korelasyon değerleri incelenmiştir. Güvenirlik çalışması kapsamında; iç tutarlık katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin KMO değeri .873 bulunmuş ve Bartlett testinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu (χ2=1465,611, sd=78, p<.01) belirlenmiştir. Faktör analizine uygun olduğu görülen ölçek verileri AFA’ya tabi tutularak maddelerin öncelikle faktör yük değerleri incelenmiştir. Bu incelemede .45’in altında değere sahip olan maddeler elenmiştir. Dolayısıyla taslak formun 27 maddelik ilk halinden 15 madde elenerek 12 maddelik, tek faktörlü bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. AFA ile elde edilen ölçek verileri, DFA’ya tabi tutulmuştur. Ölçeğin, DFA sürecinde kabul edilebilir veya mükemmel uyum göstergeleri değerlerine sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ölçek, varyansın %57,597'sini açıklamıştır. Analiz sonuçları ÖMYTÖ’nün öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum düzeyini belirlemek için kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğunu göstermektedir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of the Attitudes Towards Teaching Profession Scale (ATTPS), developed by researchers, in order to determine the attitudes of prospective teacher candidates towards the teaching profession. This study was conducted with quantitative research methods and techniques. The application process of the scale was implemented with the students in the university's faculty of education in a province in Southeast Turkey. In the research process, two different study groups were employed where face-to-face scale application was made. A total of 615 participants were divided into two groups, 275 with EFA and 340 with CFA. The validity of the scale in the analysis process initiated after the scale application; construct, face, content and compliance. Structural features of draft form prepared by EFA were examined and sub-dimensions were tried to be determined. Then the correctness of this build has been tested with CFA. Expert opinion was applied for the face and content validity, while the correlation values between similar scales were examined. Within the scope of reliability study; internal consistency coefficients were calculated. The KMO value of the scale was .873 and the Bartlett test was statistically significant (χ2 = 1465,611, sd = 78, p <.01). Factor load values of the items were first examined by subjecting the scale data that seemed appropriate to the factor analysis to EFA. In this review, items with values below .45 were eliminated. Therefore, a 12-item, one-factor scale was obtained by eliminating 15 items from the initial 27-item form of the draft form. The scale data obtained with EFA has been subjected to CFA. It turns out in the CFA process that the scale has values that are acceptable or have excellent conformance scores. The scale explained 57,597% of the variance. The results of the analysis show that the ATTPS is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine the level of attitudes of prospective teachers towards the teaching profession.
