The Journal of Turkish Studies started to be published in 2006.

It is an e-journal publishing academic articles based on scientific researchs, investigations and evaluations.
 

At least 4 issues are released annually. Along with these issues the special issues, as we call, which are edited by the exact scholars proved themselves on their fields are released. Therefore, up to 7-8 issues per year are released, though, the periodical issues, winter, spring, summer and fall, are released regularly.

 The Journal of Turkish Studies was founded towards the wish of Turchologists from many different institutions and universities worldwide. Although the representative of the Journal Ass. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dursun ERDEM as the owner and the master editor, the journal belongs to all Turchologists. As we appriciate this idea, nearly all the issues are edited by a guest editor who is an expert in the fields they master.

 The Journal of Turkish Studies is a scientific journal which accepts articles based on investigation, research and evaluation on such issues as socialogy, geography, etnics, pedagogics, the history of middle asia, middle east, europe, the language and literature of Altai and Turkish languages.

The Journal of Turkish Studies is a journal which publishes original, academic and scientific articles based on research, analysis and evaluation.

Since the Journal of Turkish Studies is released in the field of Social Sciences, especially Turkish and English articles, as well as the German, French and Russian ones, take place within.

 The Journal of Turkish Studies, one of the most respected journal in the Turcolgy has become meeting point for the scholars.

The most significant feature of the journal is that it welcomes the guest editors. So that the experts who has succeed in every different fields could have the opportunity to release special editions at what they are expert and these special issues are regarded as reference sources. This “guest editor” system helps the scholars to write out what academic issues they care for and to create high grade reference sources.

The Journal of Turkish Studies has contact with many different institutes around the world studying on Turcology. There are representatives in 30 different countries from the United States of America to Japan, from Korea to Norway.

The Journal of Turkish Studies is a journal scanned and indexed by dozens of directories. The Journal of Turkish Studies was founded by the efforts of many valuable scholars from various institutes and universities. For this reason, the Journal of Turkish Studies has no bound with any university and institutes, though, it continues to run independent and free with the efforts of various experts and scholars.
